Why not make your own handmade felt Christmas ornaments this festive season? This easy to follow guide will show you exactly what to do and be sure to make your tree stand out!
Prepare your workspace. You will need coloured felt, coloured beads, ribbon, scissors, thread, polyfil and a pencil.
Draw out 2 large circles for the snowman’s body and then slightly smaller circles for the snowman’s head.
Using your scissors, carefully cut around the snowman’s body. The two pieces will be the front and back of your snowman ornament.
Using beads and felt, sew on some buttons, a scarf and a nose on the front of the snowman’s body.
Use a piece of black felt to cut out a hat shape and sew this on top of the snowman’s head.
Cut about 10cm of your ribbon and sew this on the top of the back piece of the snowman.
Place the back and front piece of the snowman together and use a blanket stitch to sew the pieces together. Do not fully stitch the snowman as you will need to stuff this first.
Once you have stitched up to the head of the snowman, start stuffing this with some polyfil. Be careful not to use too much as it will be difficult to finish stitching. Finish the ornament by stitching around the snowman’s head.
