Javana Cold Wax

Cold Wax. 250ml. Each.

Cold Wax is a form of resist for use on fabric or paper, it is a great alternative to hot, melted wax. It will not penetrate all the way through thick fabrics or papers but will protect surface areas from fabric paints, paints and stains.

Brush, sponge or stencil the Cold Wax onto fabric or paper, then leave to dry for approximately 30 minutes. Brush on paints, fabric paints or stains to colour the non-waxed areas, dab off excess paint from the wax and leave to dry. Cold Wax can also be applied heavily to silk and very fine fabrics so that it permeates all the way through, it can then be used with dipping dyes as well.

Once dry, place a piece of thick absorbent paper either side of the painted design and use a hot iron to melt and lift the wax from the surface. Ironing will also heat-fix fabric paints.
