Paint the inside of the shoebox, preferably in Mum's favourite colour! Or line the inside with soft fluffy feathers to protect her precious keepsakes.

While the inside of the box is drying, cover the outside of the box in coloured paper using a thin layer of PVA glue. You can choose from any of the great variety of papers available within the collage pack.

Next create a frame for your photograph. To do this cut out a large square of coloured paper (making sure it's bigger than your photograph) to stick on top of the box lid. Next carefully stick your photograph in the middle of your coloured frame.

Alternatively, if you don’t have a photo, use the coloured paper, or gummed paper, to create a picture, shapes or messages that can be stuck on to the frame.

Using any of the fantastically colourful materials from the collage pack - foils, feathers, cellophane, jewel stickers and even sequins - decorate the lid and frame of the central picture. Use the pipe cleaners to ‘write’ a name on the lid or even to edge the lid or picture.

Add an extra special message for the inside of the box. Take a sheet of coloured paper and cut it to size so it can easily be placed in the box. Decorate with a special message and add pretty embellishments, perhaps to match the box lid. Whether for Mother’s Day or Birthday wishes the box will be a treasure to keep forever.
