Take a handful of Model Magic, roll it into a ball and use the palm of your hand to flatten it so it is approximately 1cm thick. Use a rolling pin if it’s easier. You can leave it the shape it is or use a circle cutter to make it perfectly round.

Use a round smooth pencil to make a hole through the top of the Model Magic disc. This is so you can thread a ribbon through.

Choose a different colour of Model Magic to make an insignia for the medal. We’ve chosen different symbols for different sports, however you could do 1st, 2nd and 3rd. Model Magic is really easy to mould so you can make your design as intricate or as bold as you like. Just lay the design on top of the medal and gently push it on so it attaches. Model Magic has good sticking properties so there’s no need to squash it! Leave the medal to dry out overnight.

Now it’s time to choose a ribbon! Choose a ribbon that works with the colours of your design, or maybe your school or house colours. Thread it through the hole in the medal and make sure you have enough ribbon to allow the medal to go over someone’s head. Knot the two loose ends together.
